PARTIAL FIRE BAN 
IS CURRENTLY IN EFFECT

​A PARTIAL FIRE BAN means all fires must be confined within a non-combustible structure, container or barrel with openings covered with a heavy gauge metal screen having a mesh size not larger than twelve (12) millimeters and which is used for the purpose of cooking or burning refuse. ​​

Minimum Municipal Tax Payable - $1,050 per property ($25.00 increase from last year)

2020 Assessment & Tax Notices Certification of Mailing
This is certification under Sections 310(4) & 336(1) of the Municipal Government Act that 2020 Combined Assessment and Tax Notices were mailed to all property owners in the Summer Village of South View on May 15, 2020.

Combined Tax and Assessment Notices are mailed in May of each year. 

Has Your Mailing Address Changed?
Please inform the Administration Office if your mailing address has changed to ensure you receive your mail from the Summer Village 587-873-5765.  You should also notify Alberta Land Titles of the change - 780-427-2742. -

Please ensure cheques are made payable to the "Summer Village of South View".  Envelopes must be postmarked on or before the tax due date.

Payments can be dropped off at the Municipal Office at 4808-51 Street, Onoway, AB.  There is an after-hours drop-off slot available.

Monthly Tax Payment Plan
Take advantage of the Tax Payment Plan. By making equal monthly installments, you will avoid penalties and the need for a large lump-sum payment. Contact the office for more information at 587-873-5765. 

The Minimum Municipal Tax is in place in order to assist in a more cost-effective and efficient distribution of municipal expenses to each property owner.  The same municipal services are provided to each property within the Summer Village regardless of the assessed value of the property, therefore, implementing a minimum tax helps to equitably allocate the cost of all services required to maintain and sustain the municipality.  While the vacant properties will see the largest tax increases this year due to the minimum tax payable, the intention of this is to encourage the development of these properties throughout the municipality.
