PUBLIC WORKS
The Summer Village contracts the following services:
-Snow Clearing & Sanding (P & E Ventures)
Snow clearing and sanding takes place by P & E Ventures at the request of the Summer Village. Once all roads have been plowed,
windrows will then be removed from all driveways.
-Grass Cutting (Bugs Lawn Care)
The Summer Village of South View has contracted the services of Bugs Lawn Care since 2012. Bugs Lawn Care provides grass
cutting, spring and fall clean up and general maintenance services to the Summer Village.
-Waste Collection (Local Environmental Services)(formerly Calahoo Waste)
The Summer Village provides 5 large bins throughout the municipality for household garbage. The bins are emptied weekly from
May to October and bi-weekly from November to April. Only Regular Household Waste is to be put into the bins. Residents are not
authorized to dispose of building/construction waste, barbeques, mattresses, bikes etc. into the Summer Village waste bins as these
items are to be taken to the Highway 43 Waste Commission Regional Landfill Site located on highway 43 and RR35. A reminder that
grass clippings take up less room if they are removed from bags. Unauthorized dumping will result in the person dumping being
invoiced the cost of one bin lift.
Contracted services for the Summer Village are provided in balance with the weather conditions and available municipal
budget. If residents have any concerns or questions with respect to the contracted services provided, please contact the office.

-May 30th - Crack Filling - COMPLETED
-June 7th & 8th - Speed Bump Painting - COMPLETED
-June 12th - Basketball Court Construction begins at Hillside Park - COMPLETED
-Week of June 12th - Road Paving/Gravelling in various areas to follow basketball court construction - COMPLETED
-June 28th - Planned tree maintenance/removal on Park Street to take place between 11:00 a.m. & 1:00 p.m., this area may be
closed, residents can use Lakeview Avenue for access during those time. - COMPLETED
-June 29th - Planned tree maintenance/removal in the area of 101 Avenue and 101 Street - COMPLETED
