2024 Budget Information
Council approved the 2024 Operating and Capital Budget and
2024 Tax Rates Bylaw on April 16, 2024.
Municipal Tax Dollars Collected - 4.8% increase from the previous year
Provincial School Foundation Tax - 1% increase from the previous year
Provincial Senior Foundation Tax - 17% increase from the previous year
Minimum Municipal Tax Payable - $1,155.00 per property (was $1,125.00 in 2022)
2024 Penalty Information
Penalties on Unpaid Taxes and on Tax Arrears:
18% penalty on January 1st on total taxes owing
2% penalty on July 1st on unpaid taxes
4% penalty on August 1st on unpaid taxes
6% penalty on September 1st on unpaid taxes
6% penalty on October 1st on unpaid taxes
A reminder that the Summer Village has a monthly tax payment plan available to all residents.

2023 Assessment & Tax Notices Certification of Mailing
This is certification under Sections 310(4) & 336(1) of the Municipal Government Act that 2023 Combined Assessment and Tax Notices were mailed to all property owners in the Summer Village of South View on May 17, 2023.

Combined Tax and Assessment Notices are mailed in May of each year and are due June 30th.
Has Your Mailing Address Changed?
Please inform the Administration Office if your mailing address has changed to ensure you receive your mail from the Summer Village - you can do this by emailing the office. You should also notify Alberta Land Titles of the change - 780-427-2742. - Alberta Land Titles Change of Address Form

Please ensure cheques are made payable to the "Summer Village of South View". Envelopes must be postmarked on or before the tax due date.
Payments can be dropped off at the Municipal Office at 2317 Twp Rd 545, Lac Ste. Anne County, AB. There is an after-hours drop-off slot available.
Payment can be made via e-transfer - Please contact the administration office to set up a password.
Monthly Tax Payment Plan
Take advantage of the Tax Payment Plan. By making equal monthly installments, you will avoid penalties and the need for a large lump-sum payment. Contact the office for more information.
The Minimum Municipal Tax is in place in order to assist in a more cost-effective and efficient distribution of municipal expenses to each property owner. The same municipal services are provided to each property within the Summer Village regardless of the assessed value of the property, therefore, implementing a minimum tax helps to equitably allocate the cost of all services required to maintain and sustain the municipality. While the vacant properties will see the largest tax increases this year due to the minimum tax payable, the intention of this is to encourage the development of these properties throughout the municipality.
